SIDEINFO®

Wildfire Defence System

SIDEINFO gives communities located in forested areas a defensive structure against fire. It supports emergency services by combining planning, vegetation management, infrastructure and training.

It has been added to the operational catalogue of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Spain’s Military Emergencies Unit and the fire services of Valencia and Catalonia.

1

Preventive planning and self-protection

Assess the risk and design solutions for each scenario: what to do, how, when and with which resources.

2

Preventive silviculture and fire-smart gardening

Manage vegetation around villages, housing estates and gardens to turn them into a line of defence.

3

Infrastructure and sensors

Water tanks, SIDEINFO cannons to irrigate the perimeter, green firebreaks and wireless sensor networks to monitor risk.

4

Training and drills

Knowing what to do so the risk never materialises, and how to act if fire arrives: situational awareness.

SIDEINFO Collective

Protects the perimeter of a town or housing estate.

SIDEINFO Domestic

Defends an individual home or isolated building.

SIDEINFO Zapadores

Self-contained trailer with portable cannons to deploy an immediate defence line. Developed with Vallfirest.
