Ferran Dalmau-Rovira analyses the wildfire season on À Punt’s “Panorama”

Almost 10,000 hectares burned in the Valencia region this summer. Our director explains why wildfires are increasingly hard to put out.

This summer wildfires hit our region hard once again, burning almost 10,000 hectares in the Valencia region. Extremely intense fires in La Vall d’Uixó, Segorbe and El Saler forced thousands of people to evacuate and severely damaged areas such as the Serra d’Espadà.

Why are they increasingly hard to extinguish? What are we facing in this new era of wildfires?

Our director, Ferran Dalmau-Rovira, took part in À Punt’s Panorama programme to discuss the severity of the season, how wildfires are changing and the urgent need for resilient land management adapted to climate change.
